Publication Requirements
Steps and Conditions for Publishing and Submitting Research
The Gateway Journal for Modern Studies and Research (GJMSR) is an international, double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Scientific Events Gate – Malaysia.
It accepts research papers, review articles, and applied studies in humanities, social sciences, and applied sciences, and is committed to maintaining high academic and ethical publishing standards.
1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be prepared using the official GJMSR template and comply with all publication standards.

Authors must submit the formatted manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) via the journal’s online submission system or official email, accompanied by the Author Declaration and Commitment Form.

Manuscripts must be written in clear and precise language, with properly formatted figures, tables, and consistent numbering throughout.

The submitted paper must fall within the journal’s scope, and not be extracted from theses, dissertations, or books.

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using professional detection software.
-
The paper must be original and make a significant contribution to its field.
-
Manuscripts should be not more than 25 pages, excluding the cover page.

Authors must confirm that their manuscript has not been submitted or published elsewhere.

The paper should demonstrate coherence between the title, objectives, discussion, results, and references.
-
The journal accepts manuscripts in Malay, English, Arabic, and French.
-
Withdrawal of accepted manuscripts is not permitted under any circumstances.
The journal will acknowledge receipt of submissions within three (3) working days.
The peer review process typically takes 15 days from the date of reviewer assignment.
Authors must revise and resubmit their manuscripts within ten (10) days after receiving reviewer comments.
Once approved, the author will receive an official acceptance letter specifying the publication date.
Authors must pay the review and publication fees after plagiarism verification.
Each submission is reviewed by at least two reviewers; if their evaluations differ, a third reviewer is assigned.
Final acceptance is granted after approval by both the reviewers and the Editorial Board.
Upon publication, authors will receive a link to the complete issue containing their article.
2. Instructions for Authors
Authors must follow the formatting and structural guidelines below:

Use Times New Roman, font size 12, black color, regular for text, and bold for titles.

Margins: 1 inch on all sides (as per the official template).
-
Abstract should be between 200 and 250 words.
-
Manuscripts must be single-spaced and should be not more than 25 pages.
-
Number sections consistently (1., 2., 3., etc.).
-
Tables must be simple, without color or shading. Titles in bold, size 12, and content in regular, size 12.
-
Do not indent paragraphs.
-
When citing Quranic verses, include the Surah name and verse number (e.g., Surah Maryam, verse 88). Use plain text and avoid decorative fonts or Quranic calligraphy.
3. Research Structure
Manuscripts should include the following sections:

All sources must be listed in a single alphabetical reference list at the end of the paper.
4. Writing and Formatting References

All references must follow APA 7th Edition style.

References should primarily include books and journal articles, preferably from Scopus-indexed journals.

Each manuscript must cite at least 12 recent and relevant sources.

Separate lists must be provided for Arabic and foreign references.
-
Footnotes or endnotes are not permitted.
-
References must not be numbered but arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name.
-
The first line should align left; subsequent lines should be indented.
-
Use regular font, without bold or underlining.
-
Include only the three-part author name (Last name, First name, Middle name).
-
Include the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) when available.
-
If the publication date is unknown, use (n.d.).
-
Both Gregorian and Hijri dates are acceptable. Use “H” for Hijri years and omit “AD.”
-
Do not mention the edition for first editions; for later editions, indicate as (2nd ed.), (3rd ed.), etc.

Ensure proper punctuation and spacing throughout.
Example (Book Reference):
Ibn Abi Hatim, Abu Muhammad Abdulrahman. (1952). Al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil. India: Dar Ihya al-Turath al-Arabi.
Arabic references must be Romanized (written in Latin letters) following the journal’s official style.
Arabic script must not appear in the reference list.
